Community
At Mossford Green, we are continuing to develop links with our community and ensuring that are children see the strength in supporting one another both in and outside of school. We are currently developing different projects, if you have any new ideas or hear about a new initiative, we would love to hear about it.
Our CCA launch event for 2025 was had a great local focus this year.
Operation Mossford Magic
Thank you to all of the school community for all of your amazing donations. Our group of Year 6 children were able to create just over 50 parcels that were collected by Redbridge Foodbank to give out to children most in need over the festive season. We are so proud!
CCA - Contribution to Community Award
The CCA is a unique opportunity for the children in our year 5 and 6 to develop themselves. They will use develop skills to contribute to the community around them. By using these they will be able to earn Bronze, then Silver and finally, their Gold award.
They will be able to achieve these by thinking about the different sections of the community.
Looking in - School
This is a focus on Mossford Green, contributing to the community starts small and we need to
look in
to see what we can do to help. E.g. Starting a club, being a librarian, supporting another child who finds times tables difficult, being part of a team.
Looking around - Barkingside/Redbridge
There are so many opportunities outside of the school gates where we can contribute within Barkingside and the Borough of Redbridge. When we look around at the community, we have to think about what we can do to help and support. E.g. Taking part in community events or doing a litter pick in our local park.
Looking out - world
The world is ever changing and being part of a wider community is so important as we grow up. We have to keep
looking out
at the world around us and think about how we can help (even just as individuals!) E.g. Fundraising for disasters or charities, thinking of ways to look after the environment.

Barkingside Flag Project
We were very grateful to be a part of an arts and heritage project run by Vision's culture and Library development team. We were lucky to design two of the flags that will be used across many different events run by the Vision team and it was so exciting for our children to see themselves as "published" artists at the opening exhibition.
